In addition to training for store staff, retail skills shops work with Business Link and other local agencies to provide training and advice on a variety of business and retailing topics. Retail skills shops are the first port of call for small and independent retailers needing support to grow their businesses and develop their staff.
Signposting
Retail skills shops provide a signposting service to any retailer or employee they cannot help directly. Retail skills shops maintain a link with local agencies, providers and further education colleges and keep a library of information, to which retailers and their staff have access.
Mapping employer training
We offer a specific mapping service which enables employees to achieve nationally recognised qualifications through their company schemes. The service highlights gaps in provision and retail skills shops have the resources to fill the gaps where necessary.
